About Ralph and Alissa Wakefield the owners of Wakefield Music, LLC and our teachers.
We have lived here in Mountain Home since 2005 when we moved here from Pleasant Grove, Utah. Alissa took piano lessons as a child and raised our oldest child Sarah playing the Violin since she was 3 years old. Alissa has been the choir director at church for at many years now which she has always enjoyed doing. Many may now know her from conducting the LDS choir during the annual chrech event. She fills in as the children’s program pianist at church as frequently as needed.
About August of 2011 we decided to start a music school here and most folks in town are now aware of Mountain Home Music School. As the school began growing, we saw the need of our students and many others dropping in requesting instruments, reeds, and more. It became clear to us that there is a need for full music store in Mountain Home.
Ralph has been doing the flyer’s, business cards, signs, website development and now instrument repair. Alissa says the growth of the music school is due to his marketing efforts, I say the school is growing because of her and our other great teachers.
In 2015 we added band instrument rentals to support a growing Hacker Middle School band and the new music teacher at Rimrock serving the Bruneau and Grandview areas. With the introduction of the band instrument rentals we are now able to provide instrument repair for the community.
We also have seven studios available for private and group lessons including piano, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, guitar, percussion, and more.
